An Author Night with NY Times Bestselling romance writer Phoebe Conn will be presented in the South Pasadena Library Community Room on Thursday, February 16 at 7 p.m. The doors will open for the free Valentines Week event at 6:30 p.m. when Phoebe’s son, Jeff Ingwalson, a professional musician who regularly appears in the area, will sing and play a variety of romantic tunes on acoustic guitar. Afterwards Phoebe will describe her remarkable writing career for which she has produced more than 40 novels at a clip of more than one per year. Phoebe Conn’s latest book is “Helen: The Wine Dark Sea,” a Bronze Age historical novel based on the true life and loves of Helen of Troy. The presentation will also feature the words and images of archaeologist and retired UCLA professor Gary Stickle who will showcase photographs of Ancient Greece.
The Community Room is located at 1115 El Centro Street. The event is presented by the South Pasadena Public Library and the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library. No tickets or reservations are necessary. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and refreshments will be served. Autographed books will be available for purchase. Free parking is available after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends at the Mission-Meridian Parking Garage located at 805 Meridian Avenue, adjacent to the Metro Gold Line Station.
