On view Jan 6 – 31, 2017 at SugarMynt Gallery: exhibiting artist DEFECTIVEBARBIE works with watercolor to create contemporary portraits of women that are focused on emotion.  Mixing abstraction, realism & negative space her paintings captivate viewers on a personal & cathartic level.  DEFECTIVEBARBIE’s subjects contain both sadness & strength; they convey the courage beneath pain & the complexity of beauty.
